Squirrel catapulting3/18/2024 ![]() ![]() Doesn't seem as complicated as I thought it was originally. So, I could wild shape into a mouse as a bonus action, use my movement to climb my party member and then ready an action to wild shape mid-air. You could also just move next to them and they can pick you up and throw you. However, climbing up your party member could be done with movement though, so you should be fine. Just something to keep in mind when you do this in game: You wouldn't be able to climb a party member as an action, then ready another action. That would let you do both wild shapes in one turn. Your option A seems like a good solution too! 12K Share 1.6M views 2 years ago squirrel catapult squirrellaunch New squirrel launcher design.the heights and distances with this setup are amazing Each and every squirrel lands safely. I'm thinking on my turn I'd use my bonus action to wild shape to a mouse, then as my action climb on to my half-orc party member's shoulder and ready an action to wild shape into a brown bear to be triggered by becoming airborne. Should have clarified that I'm a Circle of the Moon Druid, so I can use Wild Shape as a bonus action, rather than as an action. However, you could possible convince your DM to let you catapult a rock or something that the druid is sitting on. You could eitherĪ) Have someone ready an action to throw you at the start of your turn, then take that turn as normal (like wild shape in midair then do whatever with bonus action/movement).ī) on your next turn, ready an action to wild shape into a larger creature after you are thrown.Īlso, in regards to Falconcry's post: You wouldn't be able to use catapult to launch the druid, as catapult can only targets objects. However you do it, you'd have to wild shape into a small creature then wait until your next turn or later to be thrown. They are essential to ensure you can complete any task needed to enable you to survive, this also applies to equipment as well, so owning a hunting catapult makes this weapon an essential prepping tool. Every prepper knows the importance of having back up plans. You couldn't do this in one turn (unless you were a fighter with action surge). The Catapult Is The Perfect Tool For The Job. The main issue with this strategy is that you need an action to wild shape then another action to wild shape again. Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk I learned a lot about squirrels and a little about physics.Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse I don't think they would have done that if they were scared of the thing.Īnd after the squirrels demonstraed a mastery of the catapult - he disabled it. ![]() Plus the squirrels, after they were catapulted would just run around and reenter the course. ![]() Even putting a manual abort switch on the catapult.Īs far as the squirrel-a-pult goes, he had already captured video of squirrels making much longer leaps. ![]() In the design, he purposely and deliberately made the obstacles so that it could not hurt the squirrels. If the squirrels couldn't beat it both the squirrels and I would have lost interest. IMHO his squirrel obstacle course was deliberately designed to be beaten. He was mostly creating a squirrel obstacle course. It seems like in his final design - the bird feeder was almost an afterthought. This guy has real respect and appreciation for nature and squirrels.įor a fraction of the effort and cost he probably could have made a truly squirrel proof bird feeder. ![]()
